アーバン・パーマカルチャーinフェニックス Urban Permaculture in Phoenix

At Arcosanti, Kazuko and I met Matteo and Beatrice, visiting artists at Arizona State University. Matteo is from Italy and Beatrice is from France. They live in a part of Phoenix hit hard by the real estate crisis. But fortunately, the lower cost of living has allowed artists and permaculturists to transform a section of the downtown. There are numerous galleries, coffee houses and urban farms in the middle of one of America’s largest cities.

アルコサンティでマテオさんとビエティスさんに出会いました。マテオさんは イタリアから来て、ベエティスさんはフランスから来ました。二人ともはアリゾナステート大学でビジティングアーテストとして活躍しています。サーブプライム問題の影響を強く受けたフェニックスの中心に住んでいます。しかし、安い家賃のおかげで、美術家や パーマカルチャーリストが集まり、ギャラリーやアーバンファームが増えています。
